FreeU Enterprises Ltd., (“we,” “us” or “our”) is the owner of this website, FreelanceU.com, and is very committed to respecting and protecting your online privacy. The Privacy Policy applies to your use of and participation in FreeU training programs and courses.

Please read our Privacy Policy carefully to get a clear understanding of how we collect, use, protect or otherwise handle your personal data in accordance with our website.

This Privacy Policy has recently been updated in order to comply with the GDPR guidelines, effective May 25, 2018.

1. ELIGIBILITY TO ACCESS FREELANCEU.COM PROGRAMS AND SERVICES

As stated in our Website Terms of Service, the use of our Website and Services is restricted to individuals 16 years old and older. Freelanceu.com does not intend to, and will not knowingly, collect information from or about individuals under the age of 16.

2. HOW WE COLLECT INFORMATION

There are five ways we collect personal information on our FreelanceU.com website:

(A) Subscriber Data

On our website, there are multiple locations where we will collect your first name and email address in exchange for relevant free training offers. In view of Legitimate Interest, our subscribers would fully expect to receive additional emails on other paid virtual assistant training courses and programs. Our subscribers receive training-related emails 4-5 times per month.

All subscriber data is stored at ConvertKit.com, our third-party email provider.

(B) Student Data

When you enroll as a student of our Freelance 101 program and/or Freelance University, we will collect your personal data including:

– First name and last name

– Email address

– Country of residence

– Credit Card information via Thinkific.com, our hosted course platform and shopping cart and Stripe.com, our third party payment processor. See more information below at Third-Party Services.

Our students receive a newsletter and training-related emails 4-5 times per month. All student email data is stored and processed by ConvertKit, our third-party email provider as well as Thinkific.com, our hosted course platform.

If a student cancels their enrollment at Freelance University, their personal information and corresponding learning logs and course progress data will be retained so that they can access this important data if and when they return to the University.

(C) Contact Form Data

Our website visitors can post an inquiry including their first name and email address on our contact page at https://www.freelanceu.com/support. The personal data is stored as a contact within our Helpscout.net account, our third-party helpdesk provider. Contacts within Help Scout do not receive any unsolicited emails, but only responses to their initial inquiries. See more information below at Third Party Services.

(D) Affiliate Data

We operate an affiliate partnership program and will collect an email address at our partner application page at https://www.freelanceu.com/partner-with-us/. Our affiliate partners will receive periodic information via email to help in the promotion of our training products. The personal data from our affiliate partners is stored and processed at our third-party affiliate program hosted and managed by Shareasale.com.

Our Affiliates receive a series of 4-5 emails prior to each of our three launches of Freelance University each year in January, May, and September.

(E) Cookies Data

First of all, cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer’s hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the site’s or service provider’s systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information. For instance, we use cookies to help us remember and process your login information. They are also used to help us understand your preferences based on previous or current site activity, which enables us to provide you with improved services. We also use cookies to help us compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction so that we can offer better site experiences and tools in the future.

When you provide us with personal information to become a subscriber on our site, purchase one of our training products, or participate in our University, you imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only.

In view of Legitimate Interest, subscribers to our free training courses and resources would fully expect to receive additional emails on other paid virtual assistant training courses and programs. 

4. HOW TO WITHDRAW CONSENT

You may withdraw your consent at any time by clicking on an “unsubscribe” link which is offered at the bottom of every email we send.

At any time, you reserve the right to access, correct, delete or edit any of the personal information you have submitted. In adherence to the GDPR, European Union and Swiss individuals have certain rights to access Personal Information about them and to limit use and disclosure of their Personal Information. FreeU Enterprises has committed to respect those rights. To request the return, review or deletion of personal data, please contact [email protected]. All requests will be managed within a 30-day time frame.

5. PAYMENT DATA STORAGE

Our course platform at Freelance University is hosted by Thinkific Labs Inc. (“Thinkific”). They provide us with the online course platform for managing and delivering our training products.

Student data is stored in Thinkific’s data storage, databases, and the general Thinkific application. They store student data on a secure server behind a firewall.

Payment:

If you purchase one of our training products, we use a third-party payment processor such as Stripe or PayPal. Payments are encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction.

All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover.

PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our site and related courses and its service providers.

6. DISCLOSURE PRACTICES

We may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so or if you violate our Terms of Service. Also, if our site is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners so that they may continue to sell and support our products and services.

IMPORTANT: We do not sell, rent or otherwise disclose your personal information to any third parties, including but not limited to advertisers, strategic partners or vendors. Again, we take your privacy very seriously.

Freelanceu.com has implemented and maintains reasonable security procedures and practices to protect against the unauthorized access, use, modification, destruction or disclosure of Your Personal Information.

Freelanceu.com wants Your Personal Information to be complete and accurate. As stated in the Website Terms of Service, by using the Website, You represent and warrant that all information You provide on any registration form or otherwise in connection with Your use of the Website and Services will be complete and accurate, and that You will update that information as necessary to maintain its completeness and accuracy.

9. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and process your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.

However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies with respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.

For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.

Once you leave our website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our website’s Terms of Service.

Here is a list of third-party services we use to ensure you have the best possible experience at our website:

Thinkific.com hosts all online programs and courses delivered through Freelance University and through our Freelance 101 program. Thinkific also functions as our Shopping Cart for our paid programs and transfers payment data to Stripe and PayPal.

ConvertKit.com hosts and manages all email subscribers for our free and paid training products. 

Stripe.com processes all credit card data for our paid training products.

PayPal.com processes payments via our students paying with their PayPal accounts.

Helpscout.net manages and stores all personal data related to customer support inquiries.

Leaddyno.com manages and stores all personal data for our Affiliate partners and program.

Google Analytics – We use Google cookies to gather your demographic data in order to improve your overall user experience.

Facebook – We use Facebook cookies in order to track results for our Facebook Advertising campaigns.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these websites and encourage you to read their privacy statements.

10. CHANGES TO PRIVACY POLICY

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it.
